Moderately Wide Angle. This full-frame lens provides a nice balance between wide angle and normal range. The 35mm focal length has long been a staple for landscape, street, and all around general photography.

Optics. The 35mm Summicron-M II’s aspherical element minimizes aberrations and distortion, regardless of focus distance. Its seven elements in five groups ensure high-contrast images with great control over lens flare and ghosting. Images remain tack-sharp even when working at f/2. This lens’s eleven-blade iris will help keep your bokeh smooth.

I don’t find the improvements between the two versions astronomical, though, so if you’re not printing at high resolutions and are looking to save a buck the previous one will do just fine.
