I’m a fan of 24-70 f/4 lenses, I think they’re really practical and useful everyday gear and I tend to use one as my everyday lens. The Nikon Z 24-70mm f/4 S is an instant favorite for me. Even though I knew the dimensions, I was surprised at how small and light it felt on the camera (much smaller than the SLR 24-70 f/4 I’ve been using). Autofocus was quick and accurate, the images really sharp throughout the zoom range. I’m a little ambivalent about first generation mirrorless cameras in general. But I liked this little lens so much I’m quickly becoming a fan of the camera it attaches too. To me, this is an ideal daytime walk around lens and my new favorite 24-70mm zoom. This lens and a Z make the small, light, but excellent package I can tuck into my overnight bag and actually take a camera on that non-photography trip.
