The Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 ASPH II is a wide angle pancake prime lens for Micro 4/3 cameras and camcorders. Key features include:
-
Extremely compact and light build
-
Excellent for street and landscape photography
-
Fast, accurate autofocus
-
Seven-blade curved aperture diaphragm
Improvements Over Previous Version. While the two versions are optically the same, the 14mm f/2.5 II has a slightly lighter and smaller metallic barrel. The version II also features updated autofocus algorithms that support the latest contrast autofocus systems to provide faster, more accurate results.
Wide Angle Focal Length. With a focal length equivalent to 28mm after sensor-crop factor, the Panasonic 14mm is a great compact wide-angle lens option for the Micro 4/3 system. The 28mm focal length is very popular for street and landscape photography, but this lens’s compact build means it’s easy to carry in your camera bag.
Moderately Fast Aperture. While the f/2.5 maximum aperture isn’t earth-shattering, it’s still plenty fast for indoor shooting in artificial lighting. It also enables better depth-of-field control than a kit lens.
