Versatile Telephoto Zoom. The Panasonic 70-200mm f/4 S PRO OIS covers a versatile, popular range of focal lengths. Using an APS-C camera? You’ll get a 105-300mm equivalent focal-length range.
L-Mount Alliance. This wide-diameter lens mount is a joint collaboration between Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma that’s focused on a line of premium cameras & lenses in a mirrorless format. At 51.6mm mount diameter and just 20mm flange distance, the L-mount is well-suited for fast-aperture full-frame optics with compact dimensions.
Unique Double-Focus System. This lens’s double-focus system uses a linear motor and a stepping motor to provide fast, accurate, nearly silent autofocus performance for still and video use.
Constant f/4 Aperture. The constant f/4 maximum aperture gives you consistent illumination throughout the lens’s zoom range. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
Optical Image Stabilization. The in-lens stabilizer helps to combat camera shake, allowing you to shoot at slower shutter speeds. It supports five-axis Dual I.S. and Dual I.S. 2.0 for increased stabilization.
Optics. The 17-group/23-element optical formula includes 1 aspherical element, 1 ultra extra-low dispersion element, and 3 extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion.

I’ll start with the summary. This lens is really, really good. It’s an f/4, of course, but with the S1 cameras awesome IBIS and accurate low-light autofocus I used it near dusk with good effect. The images were sharp and contrasty and I noticed no flare or glare issues even in bright sunlight (with the hood on). I really can’t think of anything negative to say, it’s just a superb lens. I’ll mention for completeness sake, I was comparing it to the , a lens that costs more than twice what this one does, and a lens I know to be just excellent. The only advantage the Leica had in my opinion was the increased range.
