-
Compact build and intuitive layout
Heart of a Dragon. The RED Raven features a RED Dragon Sensor with a 1.87 crop factor. This means you have the features, performance, and pedigree of an industry-standard chip with a high dynamic range and advanced color science in a slightly smaller package. Please note that this sensor has a fixed standard optical low-pass filter installed with no option to swap it out.
Ultra-High Resolution and Speed. The RED Raven gives you the ability to record stills and motion at up to 120 fps in 4K (4096 × 2160), up to 240 fps in 2K in REDCODE RAW. You can also record 2K in Apple ProRes proxies.
Integrated Canon EF Mount. To help keep costs down, the RED Raven is only offered with an integrated Canon EF mount.
DSMC2 Accessorized. The Raven’s design adds the small details that make working with it easy and intuitive. Built-in stereo mics help capture scratch and environmental audio, while a built-in speaker allows for playback. RED has placed pogo connections across the brain to keep you from having to deal with a Medusa-like tangle of cables.
DSMC2 Base Expander Included with Rental. The Raven Brain itself doesn’t have a power input to connect the standard AC adapter, so we include the DSMC2 Base Expander to give you the inputs you’ll need to turn it on.

The RED Raven is the perfect mix of everything we love about RED innovation without the headache of making sure to remember every modular detail. We’ve seen a complete novice master this camera in the field in less than half an hour, and the footage was spectacular. While it lacks the higher-resolution options boasted by the rest of the DSMC2 lineup, it’s a perfect fit for the entry-level RED shooter. Just keep in mind the smaller sensor (1.87 crop) when choosing lenses! It’s not the best in low light, but the ability to record 120fps in 4K is pretty sweet.
