Quality & Reliability. The RODE NTG5 Shotgun is a reliably performing microphone that combines lightweight but sturdy 8-inch aluminum housing and precision supercardioid condenser capsule for great audio on film, television, or documentary shoots. Unlike the , this mic does not have an internal battery and will require +48V phantom power from a camera, recorder, or mixer.
Accurate & Transparent. The NTG5 was designed with transparency in mind, and can hold up to damp scenarios where other mics fail thanks to RF-bias technology. A conformal coating blocks moisture, cold, and dust for accurate audio capture in less-than-ideal scenarios.
Pistol Grip & XLR Extension Included. The pistol grip includes a 17-inch XLR extension cable and built-in shock resisting mic clips. A 3/8″-16 threaded socket at the bottom of the grip lets you put the entire grip on a boom pole to quickly adapt to new audio-recording needs. A standard 3/8″-16 threaded mic clip is also included for more traditional mic mounting.
