The Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is a professional-caliber, fast-aperture, wide-angle lens designed for Sony E-mount cameras and camcorders. Key features include:
-
Great for landscape, nature, and architectural shooting
-
Excellent image quality, clarity, contrast, and sharpness
-
Fast, smooth, and quiet autofocus; manual-focus override
-
Nine-blade rounded diaphragm
Fast f/1.4 Aperture Wide Angle. The fast f/1.4 aperture enables great low-light performance, wide-angle images, and shallow depth of field. The wide-angle perspective is popular for landscape, nature, interior, and architectural photography. Using a APS-C sensor camera? You’ll have a focal length equivalent to 36mm.
High-Quality Optics. As a part of Sigma’s Art lens line, this lens goes through Sigma’s rigorous A1 testing to ensure high image quality. A pair of aspherical elements helps to eliminate sagittal coma flare, distortion, and axial chromatic aberration. Three “F” Low-Dispersion elements and four Super Low-Dispersion glass elements work in unison to correct for chromatic aberrations throughout the entire focusing range while ensuring high image sharpness, clarity, and contrast. The Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes lens flare and ghosting, helping to provide high color accuracy.
Hyper Sonic Motor Autofocus System. Provides fast, smooth, and quiet operation in a wide variety of shooting situations. You can also manually override the autofocus motor at any time by rotating the focusing ring, giving you quick fine-tuning ability.

The Sigma Art lenses are consistently physically large, reasonably priced, and optically superb. If you have a dozen Art lenses, though, one of them has to be the runt of the litter. This is that one. It’s merely optically very good. If you have a little flexibility in focal length choice, I’d recommend moving over to the 28mm lens, that one is optically superb. (Superb is better than very good, if you have any question.)
