Full-Frame E-mount. As a part of the FE line of lenses, the FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS is designed for Sony full-frame cameras. It’s also fully compatible with APS-C cameras, on which it’ll provide a 150-600mm equivalent focal length.

The FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS’s 16-group/22-element design includes one super extra-low dispersion element and two extra-low dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberrations, and to produce clear, high-contrast images. A Nano AR coating keeps flare and ghosting at bay while maintaining color fidelity.

As good as the newer Canon? No, but better than the Sony FE 70-300. And it works with the Sony FE teleconverters, if you feel so inclined. Like other Sony FE telephotos, there’s going to be a bit of copy-to-copy variation. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
