What’s Changed? The NX5R’s improvements over the NX5U include built-in Wi-Fi and an LED light to help you gather and share video.

20x Optical Zoom. The HXR-NX5R comes equipped with a Sony G-Series lens providing a 28.8mm-576mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range.

Built-In Lighting. The NX5R comes with a dimmable, daylight-balanced LED light located just above the lens, which provides a 90° beam angle and an optional diffuser. This gives you the convenience of an on-camera light without a separate source.

Built-In Wi-Fi. Transition quickly from production to post with remote file transmittal through Wi-Fi or FTP. Use NFC to wirelessly control the camera using your iOS/Android device.

Slow and Quick Mode. You can select frame rates from 1 to 60 fps over a native 24/30-fps base.

Capture Professional Audio. Connect high-end, professional microphones with the NX5R’s two phantom-powered XLR inputs.

Neutral-Density Filtration. The NX5 has three ND filters (3, 6, and 9) built into its body. These are invaluable when trying to properly expose on the fly.
