The Z CAM E2-F8 Full-Frame 8K Cinema Camera (EF) is an ultra-compact full-frame camera capable of ZRAW and HEVC recording. It builds on the ergonomics and features of the previous . Key features include:

• 35.97 × 23.98mm, full-frame, CMOS sensor with 14-stop dynamic range

• Records in 12-bit ZRAW at DCI 4K & 10-bit H.265 at up to 8192 × 3456/30p to CFast 2.0 media

• Active EF mount for compatibility with most Canon EF lenses

• Powered by common Sony L-series (NP-F) batteries

12-bit ZRAW & 10-bit H.265 Recording. The Z CAM E2-F8 Full-Frame 8K Cinema Camera (EF) can capture up to 12-bit ZRAW at DCI 4K and 10-bit H.265 or 8-bit H.264 at up to 8192 × 3456/30p to CFast 2.0 media or to an external SSD using the USB-C port. The sensor is full-frame and capable of 14-stops of dynamic range. Please note, this Z Cam cannot record to a Cfast card and external SSD simultaneously.

RAW Out Over HDMI. In addition to the codec-rich internal recording options, the Z Cam E2 F8 can also output 12-bit ProRes RAW over HDMI when paired with a compatible recorder like the when running the latest ATOMOS firmware.

Metal Cube With A Sensor. Z Cam seems to have found their niche with entry-level cameras that are not much bigger than the lenses that will attach to them. This is still the case with the Z Cam E2-F8. The all metal housing makes sure the tightly packed electronics can still dissipate heat while shooting.

Wireless Control. While the Z Cam E2 features an LCD for interfacing and on-board controls, it is limited by the small amount of real estate on the body itself. Fortunately, users can connect to the camera’s ad hoc Wi-Fi for direct control with the free Z Camera app on compatible and devices.

EF Lens Mount. The E2-F8 has an active Canon EF lens mount for compatibility with most first-party and third-party Canon lenses. Any manual lens with an EF mount and full-frame coverage will work as well. There’s no official compatibility list as of yet, but please if you have specific lens compatibility concerns.

Powered by Sony L-Series Batteries or D-Tap. We include a and charger with this rental but also include a d-tap cable for powering from larger cinema batteries or other sources with d-tap outputs (not included). Please note that no AC adapter is included with this rental.
