Extremely Fast Macro. This macro lens is ideal for industrial, scientific, nature, and product photography, among other applications. Its singular, superior image quality also makes it ideal for portraiture.
Superior Optics. The Zeiss ZE 100mm f/2 Makro Planar for Canon manages to surpass Zeiss’s usual cutting-edge optics. Its floating-elements optical system, which was originally designed for use in the ultra-high performance Arri/Zeiss Master Prime T* 100mm, allows the Makro-Planar T* to deliver superior-quality images even at f/2, from infinity to its 1.5-ft. minimum focusing distance.
Selective Focusing. Precision mechanics and a very large angle of rotation let you selectively focus on important details with the clarity required for close-up photography. Please note that this is a manual-focus only lens, but it can automatically adjust exposure and white focus.
Zeiss Try and Buy. We offer a new service with ZE lenses only. First, rent any ZE lens for four days. Then, if you decide you want to buy it, we will apply your four-day rental fee to the purchase of a brand-new copy at our listed price. (Please note that this isn’t your used rental copy. You’ll be buying a new lens.)
Unlike the Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro, this lens has no IS, and no autofocus. So why bother? Because the ZE 100mm is two steps beyond spectacular.

I’ll be honest, I’m not the best photographer at using manual focus. So, I blow it with this lens sometimes, but when I hit it right, the results are just spectacular not only as a macro lens, but as a long portrait, or even a short telephoto lens.
